The fun we have with vending machines

Coca-Cola has had fun with its vending machines over the past few years, boosting its ‘Open Happiness’ philosophy with the aptly titled Happiness Machine.

The soft drinks company has published a blog that showcases the machine ‘dispensing happiness’ around the world, and I think this is my favourite clip.

Vending machines have come on in leaps and bounds as technology has improved, and as social media continues to influence how vending capitalises on the myriad marketing opportunities. This space can only get better and I’m looking forward to seeing what 2014 has in store for us.

Krones builds exhibition stand for Drinktec 2013 in time-lapse video

A couple of months may have passed since the huge Drinktec show in Munich, but German packaging and bottling machine manufacturer Krones has unveiled a revealing video related to the event.

The clip shows how much effort goes in to making sure you stand out among the crowd. The time lapse video shows Krones building a 12,000 square metre exhibition booth, and in super-fast speed, it takes just 90 seconds.

Every Can Counts celebrates good year for recycling with showcase video

I love this video, as it’s a celebration of the success of the Every Can Counts recycling programme over the last year. The programme targeted more than 600,000 people at six major UK festivals, encouraging them to recycle on-site.

Every Can Counts had a presence at events across the UK, including V Festival (both sites), Leeds Festival, Global Gathering, Download and Latitude, communicating the recycling message and engaging festival goers with on-site activities such as DJs, games and competitions.

Carlsberg UK joined the Every Can Counts programme earlier this year as one of the main funding partners, and staff from the national retailer and brewer took part in this year’s recycling activity at Latitude and Leeds festivals.

Here’s to another great year of recycling cans, and in particular spreading a very important environmental message to a new generation.
